SMPS LONG ISLAND Spearheads the Return of CANstruction to the Area

Press Release Summary: CANstruction, an international competition, has added a Long
Island location. The competition involves structures made from canned food which
ultimately benefits a local food bank.

Press Release Body: UNIONDALE, NY - The Long Island Chapter of the Society for
Marketing Professional Services is hosting a design/build competition that unites
teams of architects, engineers, contractors and students to put a visual spotlight
on hunger while showcasing the Long Island Design Community. CANstructions are built
solely from cans of food by teams of 5 members and are judged in the areas of best
use of labels, best meal, structural integrity and juror's favorite. Award-winning
CANstructions will be forwarded to an international competition the will feature
structures from more than 50 cities throughout the United States and Canada.

The Gala will be taking place on Thursday, October 25, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00
p.m. at RexCorp Plaza in Uniondale, NY; registration for the gala is available
online at www.smpsli.org. The exhibition of CANstructions will be open to be public
at RexCorp Plaza from October 26, 2007 to November 4, 2007; visitors are requested
to bring two cans of food for admission to the exhibit. The CANstructions will be
deconstructed on November 5, 2007 and all of the canned food will be forwarded to
Long Island Cares/Harry Chapin Food Bank.

The Long Island Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services
